1917 was sad and beautiful. Cinephile in me rejoiced.


... tho after all that talk about 1917 made as one continuous shot, I was baffled by the underlined, clear cut in the middle of the film (when Will passes out). It’s in the ”you can’t possibly miss this cut” level of film cuts.

And I’m ignoring all the other, seamlessly hidden cuts here. To spot the one I’m talking about doesn’t require any kind of advanced cinema knowledge. It’s totally an ”in your face” cut, as the cuts go.
